Accompagnement d'un village au LAOS du NORD









NORD LAOS - Nous organisons des visites chez nos amis du village de Ban Na Maï dans le nord Laos, nos amis Taï Lue et Khmus, ethnies locales, nous reçoivent avec la gentillesse laotienne, dans leur maison, nous partageons leur repas, délicieuse et originale cuisine familiale. Notre projet en permaculture (page "Notre action" ) permettra d'aider ces familles à maintenir la qualité de vie des environs au niveau écologique actuel (pas d'utilisation de chimie !). De plus, la paisible ambiance de la vie difficile et dure qu'ils mènent sera conservée tout en améliorant leur condition... trekking, habitat local entretenu et dynamisé en bois et bambou, tissage du coton, et divers micro projets. Votre participation aux visites organisées crée un apport substantiel au développement de ce projet.

Day1:  Chiang Rai, Thailand - Houay Xay – Luang Namtha.
Upon  on arrival at Lao border, we will be welcomed by local Guide  to Laos,then drive to Luang Namtha, we will make stop to visit hill tribe villages, Lantene,  Khmu people.
Lunch : at local basic restaurant on the way to Luang Namtha
Dinner: Manychan Guesthouse

Day2:  Luang Namtha - Muang Sing. B
After breakfast, drive to Muang Sing, we will stop on the way to visit minority villages: Khmu, Ekor, Lantene  that is different the traditional customer and life style.
Lunch :
After lunch, visit tribal museum and visit Ban Nam Ded,  Ban Nam Mai Yao people.
Dinner :
Muang Sing : accommodation at  Phou Iew bungalow.  
Day3:  Muang Sing – Xieng Kok ( Lao-Myanmar border at Mekhong River). B
Get up early morning to visit fresh local market. A colorful minorities spend this market, after we come back to hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast we drive to Xieng Kok Lao -Myanmar border to the Mekong river 70 km, ywe will enjoy to visit colorful minorities villages, Ekor, Lantene, Khmu, return back to Muang Sing.

Muang Sing : Accommodation  Phou Iew Bungalow.
Day4:   Muang Sing – Boten Lao-Chinese border - Udom Xay- Muang La.  B
Today  continue,  driving through Luang Namtha to the junction Nateuy village , after that drive to Boten international check point ( Lao-Chinese border ).
Lunch : possible to test Chinese food.
Then drive through  to Udomxay.
After check in guesthouse we can walk to see the  villagers work on the rice filed, garden and cat fish at Nam Pak River.

Muang La  : accommodation  at local basic guesthouse
Note:  Basic guesthouse, it has toilet inside the room, but very nice place to stay closely with villagers.
Day5:   Muang La – Bountai Village. B
After breakfast, we drive for about 6-7 hours to Ban Boun Tai village, stop at Pak Nam Noi village (Ban Sin Xay village) and Ban Lak 8 villages (Ekor Para) people. We have a packed picnic lunch on the way.

Day6:  Bountai Village – Phongsaly  B
After breakfast, visit Ban Na Waï village which is Taï Leu village where we can learn about Taï Leu way of living. Then continue to Phongsaly with some stops on the way.
After check in the hotel, we climb up the Phou Fa hill for overlook panoramic view which is  1500 m high and walk around Phongsaly to see Khmu, Tai Phoi Noy people's lifestyle.

Day7:   Phongsaly – Hadsa – Muong Khoua (by boat).  B
After breakfast, drive about one and half hours to Hadsa Pier where we will take a traditional boat down stream on Nam OU River. We will stop to visit the Tea Plantation (Lao Green Tea) We will also enjoy the beautiful landscape of Nam OU River and stop at villages along the way.
Lunch : packed picnic lunch on the way.

Nong Khiew : accommodation at Kham OU Riverside guesthouse.
Day8:  Muang Khoua - Nongkhiew by boat. B.D
After breakfast, we take a traditional boat downstream on the Nam OU river via Muang Ngoi village, we can stop here for lunch, we will enjoy a beautiful landscape, a  rural local life style and with greeting by the child along  on Nam OU river.

Nong Khiew : accommodation at  Nong Khiew River side bungalow. 
Day9:  Tour around Nong Khiew villages. B
After breakfast, in the morning we ride by a bicycle to visit Tham Pha Tok cave used to be the office of   Phatet Lao government in during Indochinese war (Secret war ) in period 1963-1973 and hill tribe villages, afternoon is free time on our own.

Day10:    Nong Khiew – Ban Namaï (home stay).  B.D
After breakfast, drive to Ban Namaï village , home stay (Taï Leu Tribe) we will visit our friends and will visit our help project main place. Hill tribes lifestyle, dinner and so on.

Day11:  Walking and explore villages around.  B.D.                                                                                 
After breakfast, walking and explore the villages, to learn the way life of villagers, such as Taï Leu tribe life style and Khmu lifestyle on the rice fields or villager’s activities. 
In the evening we will be welcomed a traditional BACI ceremony, we will  enjoy our dinner with villagers,

Day12:  Ban Namaï village home stay  - Luang Prabang by car . 
After breakfast we drive to Luang Prabang (LP), stop on the way in some villages and arrival in the after noon in LP.

Day13:  Luang Prabang sight seeing city tour. B
After breakfast, we take sight seeing tour in the town to visit temples such as :
  • Wat Visoun Temple the originally was built in 1513 by the King Visounarath made of wood. It was destroyed by black Chinese (Hor) in 1887, now has become the museum of the temple. 
  • Wat Aham Temple and the National Museum (Former royal palace) which was collected the antiques keep inside included sacred Prabang Buddha statues.
  • Wat Xiengthong Temple is the most beautiful temple and the oldest Wat, was built in 1560, the only one was not destroyed by the war.
Walk around city, then climb up Phousi Mount for over looking the view of Luang Prabang  328 steps to the top of Phousi

Day 14 : Gentle trekking to Khouangsi waterfall.. B.L
After breakfast, we drive head of  to visit hill tribes, Khmu, Hmong  people 20 on dirt road to Ban Long lao villages, after that we can take a forest walk bout 4hrs through the tropical rain forest with knowledgeable local guide (picnic lunch included)  at Khouangsi water, possible to swimming here, return back to Luang Prabang by van.

Day15:   Departure.  B.                                                                                            
After breakfast, is Free time in the morning until transfer to airport for your flight home.

Day5:   Muang La - Muang Khoua. B
After breakfast, we drive to Muang Khoua with many stops on the way. If we are lucky we will see the local fresh market at Ban Pak Nam Noi ( Ban Sin Xai  village ) it’s very popular place in the morning with the local people.
Lunch : To visit Ekor (Akka Para) Ban Lak 8 km village and Ban Vang Tai Dam village, making Lao Whisky ( lao Lao ) mad of sticky rice, arrive Muang Khoua.
Dinner :
Muang Khoua : accommodation at  Kham OU Riverside Guesthouse.
Note:  Kham OU Riverside is basic guesthouse, it has toilet inside the room with hot water, but it’s nice view.
Day6:  Muang Khoua – Nong Khiew by boat.  B
After breakfast, we take a traditional boat downstream on the Nam OU river via Muang Ngoi village, we can stop here for lunch.

We will enjoy a beautiful landscape, a  rural local life style and with greeting by the child along  on Nam OU river.

Day9:  Ban Namaï village ( Home Stay) – Muang Viengthong. B
After breakfast, drive to Muang Vieng Thong we stop to visit hill tribe villages and the community village at Ban Hop Heuang village where they make Lao Lao ( Lao whisky made of sticky rice ). Welcome test Lao Lao.
Lunch : We pack picnic lunch eat  on the way.  
You  can try to take a bath at the hot springs on the open air  with villagers.

Muang Viengthong : accommodation at the local Souksakhone Guesthouse
Note:  the  basic guesthouse, it has toilet inside the room with hot water, but it’s nice view.
Day10:    Muang Vieng Thong - Sam Neua.  B
After breakfast, drive for Sam Neau 6 hours.We drive through the National Reservation Nam Med Phou Leuy. A beautiful landscape of the Tropical Rain Forest, and you can stop to visit hill tribe villagers of Khmu, Hmong people.

Day11:  Sam Neua  visit region (Vieng Xai Caves).  B
Discover the leader’s cave of Phata Lao
In the early morning visit fresh local market at Sam Neua.
After breakfast, drive to Vieng Xay: a revolutionary stronghold. Limestone peaks form a beautiful landscape around Vieng Xay.
But hidden in these rocky crags are networks of Caves which were at the center of a vital period in Laos history. During 1960s, political developments in Laos were influential in the future of the whole region. The United States believed that Laos was crucial in the prevention of communist expansion, so this small country became caught up in the conflict between US and the Vietnamese.
In 1964, the US began intensive bombing of the Lao communist movement-Patthat Lao. These limestone karts cave networks sheltered their headquarters during their struggle with the American-backed Royal Lao Government.
The story of this unique revolutionary stronghold is an important part of the global political history of this period. The story of Vieng Xay also tells you about the Lao national communist movement, some hundreds of  caves used for shelter have been preserved.

Day12:  Sam Neua – XiengKhouang ( Plain of Jars ). B
After breakfast we drive to Xieng Khouang, which will take about 6-7 hours. On the way, we can make stop to visit hill tribe villages.
Lunch : at a local restaurant,
arrive Xieng Khouang late afternoon. 
Dinner :
Xieng Khouang : accommodation Chittavanh Hotel.
Day13:  Xiengkhouang – Luang Prabang. B
After breakfast,in the morning we visit the plain of jars the first site we will stop at is the biggest one, with over 300 jars. Then drive head off for Luang Prabang, it is a very scenic trip - driving through many mountains. Also you will probably see many different kind of ethnic groups walking beside the road, arrive in Luang Prabang later.

Day 14 : Walking sightseeing city tour. B
After breakfast we take sightseeing tour in the town to visit temples such as:

Day15:   Khouang Si waterfall.  B.L
We may get up early morning to offer the food for Buddhist Monks, over 300 Monks walking a line on street side for collecting food. And then do not miss to see local fresh market. 
After breakfast, we cross to the Mekong to Xieng Mean Village another side of Luang Prabang to visit Wat Long Khun, clime up Wat Chomchet overlook  the panoramic view of UNESCO heritage town.
Then take boat trip down team to Ban Jan village (Jars maker village) this village very famous making the pots, jars, so.
We drive to Kuangsi Waterfall - picnic lunch here - On the way back stop at Ban Na Ouan Hmong villages. On arrival at waterfall, we walk through forest take a short trekking. Possible to swim

Dinner :
Xieng Mouan : accommodation  at:  Phousi Guesthouse.
Day16:  Luang Prabang – Vang Vieng.  B
After breakfast, leaving for Vang Vieng, take about 6-7 hrs. A beautiful drive through the mountains and make stop to visit minority villages, Hmong, Khmu people.
Lunch : in Kasi village.
Dinner : Arrive in Vang Vieng late afternoon.

Day17:   Free time in Vang Vieng. B
After breakfast is free time on our own,  our option, we can enjoy, bicycling or bubbling on Nam Xong River and walking a long Nam Song riverside a beauty of scenery lime stone, enjoy our  cool drink and watch sunset here.

Day18:   Vang Vieng – Vientiane.  B 
After breakfast, drive to Vientiane Capital, take about 4 hours, stop on the way, arrival in Vientiane Capital by lunch. After noon is free time on our own.

Day19:  City tour inVientiane.B.L
After breakfast we take for sightseeing tour to visit religious museum.
             Wat Sisakhet, the oldest temple has been survived from Siamese War of 1828  and its cloister contains more than 8.000 Buddha statues,
             Hor Prakeo, the former home-temple of the Emerald Buddha statues. 
             Luang Stupa, the single most important stupa in Laos, which was built to cover the original small stupa containing a piece the chest of Buddha.
             Phatouxay (Arch de Triumph).                                    
Then we drive to out skirt of Vientiane to far away from Vientiane 28km to have lunch there.
Take a boat  for sightseeing on Nam Ngum River for about 2hours up and down stream on Nam Ngum River for dinner is served on boat, after that return back Vientiane,

Day20:  Vientiane –Kong Lor Cave.  B
After breakfast, drive to Tham Kong Lor cave, stop at point view  and lunch.
Afternoon taking a  boat trip through to the cave  to the another side cave, Tham Kong Lor Cave is long7.5 km, so beauty of  stalactite and stalagmites.

Day21:  KongLor Cave – Savanakhet. B
Today we continue drive to the South of Laos, one of the most stunning areas of the country. There will be an overnight stop at SAVANAKHET, a town with many influences from the bordering countries of Thailand and Vietnam.
After lunch, you can take a forest gentle walking with knowledgeable local guides who work for a conservation project and come back to walk the old city area to see the French colonial houses, Christian church.
Lunch : On arrival in Savanakhet

Savanakhet : accommodation at Hung Top hotel.            
Day22:  Savanakhet – Boloven Plateau.  B
After breakfast, drive through PAKSONG, a cool green forested area.
On the way, we visit the tea and coffee plantations, where we will see the villagers work on the plantations and we can taste the fresh coffee and tea.
Lunch at E-TOU waterfall, then we continue our drive to Tad Fan waterfall and Tad lor resort where we will have dinner.

Day23.  Free time day on your own at Tad Lor Resort.  B
Today is free time at leisure on our own.
Our option, we can enjoy walking to
             visit villages surround here

Day24:  Boloven Plateau – 4000 Islands of Mekhong River. B
After breakfast, drive to PAKSE and visit Wat Phou, Champasak, home of Angkorian-era temples, then continue drive  to Don Khong Island.

Day 25:  Take a boat to sightseeing 4000 Islands.  B
After breakfast, we take a traditional boat to explore the local villages: Ban Khone Village, where the old French colonial buildings and its retrace the old colonial past with seeing the first Lao railway with its locomotive. We walk about 30 minutes to visit Liphi Waterfall. After lunch return back the same boat to Done Khong your Hotel.

Don Khong Island : accommodation at Boun Pon guesthouse.
Day26:   Done Kong Island – Pakse.  B
After breakfast we drive to famous waterfall of Khone Phapeng, the largest waterfall in the world.
After lunch in Pakse is at leisure on our own.
Time to have debriefing about tour organization around 1730 hr and then dinner around 19 hr.

Pakse : accommodation at Pakse Hotel.
Day27:   Departure.  B 
After breakfast, is free time in the morning until transfer to airport for your flight home.
